The Strategic African Women In Leadership Board of Directors calls for nominations from the rest of AFRICA, to fill Country Heads and Chapter Leadership positions for the following Countries and/or their cities:
Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cabo Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau. Kenya, the Kingdom of Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Kingdom of Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

To be eligible for any of the above roles and/or Board membership, the candidate must be a SAWIL Premium Member, passionate about the advancement of women and girl children and keen to dedicate their time and efforts towards active gender equality and leadership transformation activism across SADC.

Previous experience in a leadership role is compulsory.
Advanced leadership training or qualifications advantageous
Must be passionate about the advancement of women and girl children.
Must be keen to dedicate your time and efforts towards active gender equality and leadership transformation activism in your respective country.
Extensive leadership experience at senior level
Proven track record to develop, lead, and implement a set strategy.
Have excellent networking skills.
Have the ability to recruit and monitor performance.
Have excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, including people management, and leadership.
Country Heads and Chapter leaders:
Country Heads and Chapter leaders will provide mission-based leadership and advance the work of the organisation. The candidate must have and demonstrate qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for SAWIL's VISION 2030 Campaign
Work very closely with the CEO to grow the SAWIL footprint in your Country or Chapter.
Partner with the CEO in the execution of the strategic plan in the country you represent.
Represent your country as an executive or advisory board member.
Duties of the board include but are not limited to the following:
Each Board member will refer three qualifying candidates each year for upcoming classes (Leadership Coaching and Development; Women Leading Board Training and Accreditation; Youth Leadership and Mentorship Nominations).
Each Board member is expected to attend and/or support the Annual Conference, Gala dinner and awards, Golf days and all Masterclasses taking place in their respective Countries.
Each Board member is expected to attend no less than 75% of the Board meetings per year.
Chapter Leaders are expected to assist with identifying and recruiting qualified, high-performing board members in their Chapters.
Represent SAWIL to stakeholders; acting as an ambassador for the organization.
Provide 30 hours of out-of-boardroom support annually based on your skillset and interest.
Participate in the annual board member self-review process.
Participate in the annual board development and planning retreat held each year.
Partner with the CEO and other board members to ensure annual fundraising goals are met.

Must be an established consultant with 10+years of leadership and executive coaching experience or a senior executive with extensive experience at senior management or executive level in SADC’s listed companies.
